Dr. Joseph F. Grasso began practicing optometry in Pinckneyville in 1979. Eight years later, in 1987, he opened his own office in Pinckneyville. Soon thereafter, in 1991, Dr. Lawrence G. Soellner joined the practice. In 1992, Drs. Grasso and Soellner started a second office in Chester. They developed both practices into thriving primary eye care centers. The tremendous success prompted the opening of a third office in DuQuoin in 1998 and the addition of Dr. Carolyn C. Gibson. The success of the practice continued and in early 2001 brought the opening of a fourth office in Sparta. A fifth office in Marissa was also opened in 2002. In 2007, in order to continue providing exceptional care and services to our patients we relocated both our Chester and DuQuoin offices to expanded locations with larger spectacle dispensaries and additional specialized diagnostic equipment. Again in 2009, we combined our Marissa and Sparta offices in to one larger location. We continue to offer comprehensive visual examinations and a full range of vision care services, specializing in contact lenses and family vision care. We look forward to continued growth and success in the future.
